How does tree stump grinding work?
We use a specialized stump grinder that operates like a compact mini-tractor to safely and efficiently grind the stump down below ground level. This allows the area to be regraded, replanted, or built on as needed, with no need for excavation.
Will stump grinding damage my lawn or property?
No. We take extra precautions to protect your lawn and surroundings. Protective boards are placed under the machine to avoid ruts or turf damage, and we use safety barriers to contain flying wood chips and debris, reducing the risk of mess, injury, or property damage. Our tracked machines distribute weight evenly on the landscape it drives over, which further helps to keep your property and lawn in prime condition.
How long does stump grinding take?
Most jobs are completed the same day. A single stump typically takes under an hour to grind, depending on the size, location, and root system. We’ll assess the site and provide an accurate time estimate before starting.
What happens to the wood chips and debris?
Stump grinding creates a pile of mulch-like wood chips. We can leave them on site, raked into a neat pile on top of the removal area for you to use in landscaping, or haul them away, whichever you prefer and this will be reflected in your quote. Our clean-up process ensures your yard looks neat when we’re done. *Note that we don’t plant grass seeds or fill in the dirt area with sod etc. That part will be up to you.

How much does it cost to remove a tree stump?
Our tree stump grinding service starts at $200. With so many factors and variables such as stump size, hardwood/softwood, accessibility, pricing is always subject to reflect such conditions. We are happy to provide a free quote to give you a more accurate idea of what your situation will cost.
Can you grind my stump the same day?
Unfortunately no. Utility locates are required by law in Ontario to dig below grade (under ground). We take the safety of your property and our operators very seriously. Ontario One Call takes five business days to complete the locates. Once they have confirmed that all utilities are cleared, we’ll call you to schedule the grind.
Can you cut down trees?
No, we are not a full service arborist, but we can point you in the right direction to find appropriate assistance for cutting down your trees. We specialize in stump grinding in order to give your lawn the care and attention it deserves.
